Single storey garden extension

The existing listed building had two large reception rooms serviced by a small dark kitchen to the rear. None of these existing spaces had any direct relationship with, or barely view into, the large garden. The proposal created a new space sitting at garden level and flooded with daylight, scaled to match the existing reception rooms, with generous kitchen/dining/larder. The extension was designed as a garden roof visible behind the brick boundary wall, but otherwise sitting low in the ground, not vying with the host property.
